The Debs-Fruscella Duo

The Italian classical guitar and piano duo Debs-Fruscella
was created in 2001. Since then, the duo has been invited to perform in many international music festivals including the Festival Internacional de guitarra Andres Segovia, in Linares, Spain in November of 2007; the Isola Festival, in Sardinia, Italy in July of 2007; the Montagano Italy festival in July of 2007, a concert in Beringen, Belgium in April of 2007 and much more.
The Debs-Fruscella Duo seeks to enrich the repertory of the classical guitar/piano medium by creating new
compositions or by making transcriptions of pieces from all styles and periods of composition including traditional music, baroque, classical, or others. The Duo respects the
characteristics and qualities of both the piano and the guitar and always tries to achieve a dynamic balance between the two instruments.
In 2003, the duo recorded their debut CD Momenti Samai, which was distributed with the specialized magazine Guitart.
Antonio Fruscella
obtained successfully the classical guitar Diploma in 1999 at the Campobasso “Lorenzo Perosi” Conservatory of music. He subsequently perfected at the National School of Music of Aubervilliers-La Courneuve, in Paris, attending the courses of the Maestro Alberto Ponce, getting in June 2000 the guitar and chamber music diploma with full marks. He attended in the same conservatory the two years post-diploma specialization course in 2001 and 2002. He also attended several master classes by famous teachers such as D. Russel, L. Zea, G. Listes, and A. Valente. He won many prizes in national competitions (Barletta, Mottola, Recanati, Caramanico, Ortona, Pescara, Savona) and international competitions (first prize at the “Paris guitar duo contest, fourth prize at Montélimar guitar duo contest and second prize at the “Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris A. Cortot” in the “J. Rodrigo” contest).He attended, as a scholarship holder, the High Specialization Course at Villecroze Academy (France) and the International Master class in Mendrisio (Switzerland), both given by Maestro A. Ponce. In 2001, on the occasion of the XIIIth international specialization course given by Maestro A. Ponce in Switzerland, he received the “Subinates” prize as best student. In October 2002 he received a scholarship from the “Ecole Normale de musique A. Cortot” in Paris where in June 2003 he obtained the Superior Musical Performance Diploma with Maestro Alberto Ponce. In 2005 he recorded with record label Alpha the "Sonata" by Antonio Ruiz - Pipň in first absolute. He has given performances in Europe and Liban. Actually, he teaches guitar in Milan, in Italy, and plays regularly in concerts in Europe.
Rania Debs
was born in Tripoli, Lebanon. She began studying piano with A. Masri. After the piano Diploma at the Beirut National Conservatory of music, and a BA in Archaeology and History of Art at the Lebanese University, she entered the “Conservatoire National de Région de Boulogne- Billancourt” (Paris), where she studied piano with P.A.GAYE.
During her music studies, she was chosen among the best students of the Conservatory to take part in a
master class with Jean Claude Pennetier. She specialized attending chamber music courses with D. Bellik and music analyses courses with
N. Hakim. She obtained the piano diploma with the First Prize, as well as the “Musical Studies Diploma” in 2004. Actually she teaches piano in the music conservatory of Melun, in France, after getting the piano teaching specialization diploma. She has been playing regularly in concerts, as a soloist and as a chamber music partner, participating in many festivals in Europe and Lebanon.
